A GRAND day out for all the family is on the timetable when a school holds its annual summer fête.

Tendring Primary School will be opening its doors for an extravaganza of family attractions and entertainment at its Grand Summer Fête on Saturday, 7th June, 2014.

The event will run from 12pm to 4pm on the school grounds in School Road, Tendring, to raise money for extra educational experiences and opportunities for its pupils.

It has been organised by Friends of Tendring School, and a lot of planning and hard work has gone into laying on an afternoon packed with fun and games for all the family.

The school’s pupils have been working hard, too, and will be showing off their singing, dancing and musical skills at a special Tendring’s Got Talent fête finale.

With the World Cup just around the corner, budding Rooneys can show off their football talent under the watchful eye of former Colchester United captain Kem Izzet, who will be running soccer skills.

Youngsters can also try out the Kids Assault Course, while Tri & Tri Again will be running a boot camp and Phoenix Archers will be have an archery range for all the family to test their skill with a bow and arrow.

Back by popular demand is dance by The Company Performing Arts, and there will also be displays by HCT Cheerleading All Stars, who have been working with the children in an after-school club.

However, it would not be a school fête without the traditional stalls and sideshows, and Tendring Primary School has got plenty lined up, including Smash the Plates, a Haystack Maze, Coconut Shy, Keepy-Up Competition, Nerf Gun Range, face painting, bouncy inflatables and the most wonderful array of plants on the plant stall.

There will also, of course, be a barbecue, refreshments and a beer, Pimm’s and wine tent to quench the thirst during a wonderful summer’s afternoon of family entertainment.

A spokesman for Friends of Tendring School said: “To finish the day’s entertainment, the children will be taking part in Tendring’s Got Talent, exhibiting their singing, dancing or musical skills.

“All the money raised from the summer fête goes to funding additional experiences and opportunities for the children; this enhances the education they receive and makes their school lives so amazing.

“We hope to see you for a great day of family fun.”

The fête will be held in the school grounds at Tendring Primary School, School Road, Tendring, Essex, , on Saturday, 7th June, 2014, from 12pm to 4pm.

Admission costs just 50p for adults and is free for children.
