A LONG-AWAITED youth shelter has finally been installed more than two years after the idea was first mooted.

The proposal by the Three Parishes Trust for a £9,000 structure for youngsters to congregate under on disused land at the British Telecom compound, in Riverside Avenue East, Manningtree, was given the green light in August.

One of the directors of the trust, Lee Lay-Flurrie: “We hope that the young people will use it – it has been put there for them.”
