ARTS festival organisers are opening a pop-up shop to give their event a boost.

Harwich Festival of the Arts will be opening a shop at 161 Dovercourt High Street from Thursday until the end of the event on July 6.

The store will be manned by festival staff and will sell tickets for events, t-shirts and even put on workshops.

Artistic director Diana Burrell believes the shop will prove to be a big hit with passersby.

“This gives us a brilliant presence in the High Street and it is a very good location,” she said.

“Hopefully people will see us and pop in to learn more about the festival.

“Last year we took over a window but this is the first time we have had a whole shop.”
