RESIDENTS have praised fire crews who battled a car fire in the early hours of the morning last Friday.
One engine from Dovercourt and Essex Police were called to Canning Street in Harwich shortly after 3.15am.
A black ford focus was on fire and crews used one hose reel and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire by 3.55am.
Police and the fire service are now investigating the cause.
Natalie Pannell’s husband, who lives in nearby Albert Street, called 999 after being awoken by the fire.
She said: “I just wanted to thank the services for their swift action and professionalism in such difficult circumstances, and to let them know they are appreciated by many.”
