A BROADBAND expert has said some areas, including parts of Tendring, are experiencing speeds so slow it makes the service “negligible”.

Marie-Louise Abretti, of uSwitch which carried out the research to find the 50 slowest streets in the country, said more needs to be done to improve the situation for households.

She said: “There are still areas in the UK which experience broadband speeds so slow the service is negligible.

“At the same time, superfast broadband connections are becoming more widely available but – as our research suggests – these are clearly not being utilised.

“More needs to be done to increase awareness of availability and cost.”
