RESIDENTS of Manningtree, Mistley and Lawford are in for a treat at the spectacular All The Fun At The Furze day.

The three councils in the area have organised a series of incredible attractions including a giant family picnic, refreshments, dozens of side stalls, shows from local groups and a number of bouncy castles and rides.

Festivities will take place at Furze Hill Recreation Ground in Mistley on Saturday June 14 from 1pm and Mistley Parish Council chairman Martin Rayner is hopeful it will be a successful day.

“Things like this take an awful lot of organisation but now I am looking forward to it, although with a little bit of trepidation,” he said.

“The idea came from the event we had for the queen’s diamond jubilee which was brilliant so we thought why not try and make an event which runs every other year.

“There will be a real bouncy castle experience with lots of slides and rides which children can use an unlimited amount for £3.

“Money has been put forward by each of the councils and we have also had very generous help from Edme and Rose builders to ensure we have everything we need.”

From 5.30pm there will be live music from local bands including Dingus Khan and Keystone with a firework finale at 10.30pm.
