A TORCH vigil was held in Harwich by protestors angry about the town’s streets being plunged into darkness at night.
Residents took to the streets holding torches where lights once showed them the way.
Street lights across Tendring were turned off in March when Essex County Council’s part night lighting scheme was introduced.
A second street light protest will see campaigners march through the street with flaming torches.
People are being asked to join the Friends of Harwich team outside the Trafalgar Pub at 11.50pm tonight.
