Harwich and Manningtree Standard: Choirs hoping to make their festival a regular occurrence Choirs hoping to make their festival a regular occurrence

A TRIO of choirs are coming together for an inaugural festival which they hope could become a regular date on the calendar.

Great Oakley choir will be visited by BT workplace choir Adastral Park Singers and Woodbridge-based Illuminati for the first ever Three Choirs Festival at All Saints Church in the village on Saturday.

The three groups are linked by one of the Great Oakley choir members having family in the Illuminati group while the conductor of Illuminati also works for BT and conducts their choir, which organiser Julie Harmer also sings in.

On the day there will be an afternoon choral workshop at All Saints Church which starts at 3.30pm.

Members of the public are welcome to come and watch and even join in but pre-registration is preferred by emailing Julie.harmer@btinternet.com.

In the evening the three choirs will perform a short concert which commences at 7.30pm. Entry is free but there will be a retiring collection.
