A FUNDRAISER in memory of a teenager who died of leukaemia in 2004 has netted a record amount.
A match between Brantham Colts and Lawford Lads from the 2003/04 season in memory of Darren Hawkins raised £1879.50 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Organiser Steve Cone said: “It is unbelievable to raise this amount of money and is the most we have ever taken by far.
“Especially in the current financial situation people find themselves in to get that much is incredible.”
