UNUSUAL new gym equipment has been installed at a primary school in Dovercourt.
As part of the government's Olympic Legacy movement, Spring Meadow Primary School was given a Sports Premium Grant to help get youngsters fit and active.
But rather than splash out on new coaching sessions, staff training or equipment for afterschool clubs, the school used the cash to create a modern outside multi-gym.
Normally seen in city parks the equipment is robust and suitable for use in all-weather.
Headteacher Linda Gildea said: "We wanted to ensure that it had an impact on as many pupils as possible and staff in the school felt that if the general fitness of pupils could be improved then our ability to compete in a range of local sports would be improved."
