EMERGENCY responders are being given new wheels to boost their lifesaving efforts.

Harwich Fellowship For the Sick has announced it will buy and donate a new vehicle to the town's Community First Responders to help the dedicated volunteers.

Sheena Parsons, secretary of the fellowship, said: "The group provides an essential service in our community.

"At this point they have to use their own vehicles when responding to an emergency call.

"This vehicle will be for their use only and will eliminate the need to transfer medical equipment."
