RENEWED pressure is to be put on rail bosses after fears were raised new housing estates will cause chaos at Manningtree railway station underpass.
Arguements have been ongoing for more than two decades about the notorious gridlock hotspot both under and over the tracks in Lawford.
But despite numerous calls for action to widen the single-file road underneath the bridge nothing has been done.
Frustrated resident Ian Robertson, who spoke out in February and called for cars travelling from Suffolk be banned from going through the railway underpass, has renewed his plea for change.
Speaking at Monday's Lawford Parish Council meeting he said: "People would like to see the bridge dug out and a new underpass built."
