A FORMER nightclub could be turned into a town centre amusement arcade.
Owner Mike Gibbons has applied to Tendring Council to convert the Basement nightclub in Kingsway, Dovercourt, into a family entertainment centre.
The ground floor building will be filled with games machines, children’s rides and slot machines.
The games will allow people to win tickets which can be collected and used to redeem prizes at a prize shop.
Mr Gibbons recently opened a bingo hall in the same building as where he plans to open the amusement arcade.
He said: “It will be a really good old fashioned seaside town family entertainment centre.”
Tendring Council will have the final say over the family entertainment centre plans.
