A YOUTH football club celebrated its achievements during a special fun day and presentation.
Frinton and Walton Youth Football Club held the annual event at the Lady Nelson playing fields in Thorpe, on Saturday.
Colchester United midfielder Alex Gilbey, a former Frinton and Walton player, made a special appearance, signing autographs and posing for players, and he was joined by U’s mascot Eddie the Eagle.
“The club had a fantastic time celebrating all its teams, ranging from under-sixes to under-18s, and their successes of the 2013-14 season,” said secretary Sarah Muckle.
“It was just great to see all the children having fun together and getting the opportunity to meet and even play football with Alex Gilbey.
“All our sides have had such a great season and, as a club, we’re moving forward.
“Now that we’ve earned a Charter Standard Award, there will hopefully be more exciting things to keep an eye on in seasons to come as the club continues to grow.”
