LONG-AWAITED improvement works at notorious accident blackspot junctions on the A120 will get underway this month.
But this comes more than ten months after the news was first announced.
The short term work will see the speed limit lowered to 50mph and average speed cameras installed between Hare Green, Pellens Corner and Horsley Cross.
The work on the 2.2 mile stretch is set to take place during July and August.
Tendring councillor Fred Nicholls has been campaigning for improvements since he became a parish councillor for Great Bromley in 2007.
He has been involved in numerous meetings between the Highways Agency and Tendring Council, Essex Highways, MP Bernard Jenkin and the parish councils since 2011.
Mr Nicholls said: “We have accidents every week at the junction – thankfully at the moment there don’t seem to be any major accidents.
“I would hate to guess the number of accidents – there have been so many down there.
