A GLAMOROUS 1920s tea dance was one of the highlights of the Harwich Festival of the Arts opening week.
Melodies from the era along with a mixture of lively Charleston quicksteps, flowing foxtrots and romantic waltzes were the order of the day as dozens of people joined in to create a fantastic spectacle at The Waterfront on Marine Parade in Dovercourt.
Traditional sandwiches and cakes were also served to dancers who had worked up an appetite.
Master of Ceremonies Phillip Waterman said: “Those attending were invited to wear 1920s outfits or evening dresses and many turned up looking the business.
“Several of the ladies came as good time girls, complete with flapper dresses, headbands, fishnet stockings and garters, whilst many of the gentlemen turned out in very smart dinner jackets.”
