Countryside celebration set to be spectacular
2:00pm Friday 11th July 2014 in News
CLOSE to 25,000 people are expected to attend Essex’s premier agricultural and family show on Saturday.
The 2014 Tendring Show is being held at Lawford House Park and this year’s theme is The Tendring Farm with open air demonstrations of how farmers in the areas are diversifying with everything from green energy to glamping.
First held in 1899, the show has become a crucial event in helping to link the rural and urban populations of North Essex and the surrounding areas together.
Suitable for families and people of all ages, there still remains a strong agricultural heritage with large displays of machinery and livestock.
Chairman of the Tendring Hundred Farmers’ Club David Lord said: “This year’s Tendring Show will be another spectacular celebration of our local countryside and the food it produces.
“Whether you’re at the show to see the displays in the main ring, the animals, or have come for shopping, there really is something for everyone.”
Tickets are available in advance at a number of outlets across North Essex including The Standard office or online at tendringshow.co.uk.
Prices are £13 for adults, £11 for seniors aged over 60, £4 for children aged between 5 and 15, and £35 for a family ticket for up to two adults and three children.
You can also pay at the gate but prices increase to £16 for adults, £14 for seniors, £5 for children and £40 for families.
