THE Manningtree branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a drumhead service to commemorate the centenary of the start if the First World War.
It will take place on the Welcome Home Field on New Road, Mistley on August 3 from 6pm.
The day after, on August 4, they will hold candlelit vigils at war memorials across the town from 10pm to 11pm.
These will include floating candles on the water at the Swan Basin in Mistley.
Other vigils will be held at the memorials in High Street, Manningtree, and Wignall Street, Lawford.
