BIG-HEARTED florists raised money for two worthy charities by selling hundreds of knitted poppies.
East Bergholt Flower Arrangers spent two days decorating St Mary’s Church with First World War memorabilia and more than 1,600 poppies ahead of the weekend-long festival.
The group sold off the creations, which take up to an hour each to knit, to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion.
They also held a show where local musicians the First Class Brass and Junior Church Choir performed classic wartime songs.
Organiser Caryl Smith said: “The whole weekend went very well and I am very pleased.
“Lots of people came to visit the church over the two days and bought poppies and then went the band played we had a lovely sing-a-long which everyone enjoyed."
