A HARWICH restaurant and gallery is set to be bought by its current tenant.

The Ship Inn in Kings Quay Street has been leased by James Sallows from Tendring Council for the last ten years.

Mr Sallows made the request to buy the property which also includes a flat at the end of the lease and was asked to obtain a valuation and make a bid for the property.

The bid has been independently assessed by Tendring Council’s own valuers to ensure the best value has been achieved.

The decision to dispose of the Ship Inn was made at a meeting of the Council’s Cabinet and is subject to call-in.
