A DANGEROUS stretch of pavement linking a car park to the town centre is set to be fixed after the land owners reached an agreement with the council.

Privately owned land between 139 and 141 High Street in Dovercourt is used as a public footpath from the car park in Milton Road to the town centre.

The land is in a poor state of repair but Tendring Council bosses and the land owners have come to an agreement to fix the path using money given to Harwich Town Council by Lidl after a planning agreement to improve the town centre.

Tendring Councillor Garry Calver believes it is an amicable solution for all parties.

“The officers at Tendring Council have worked incredibly hard to bring this about and it will have significant benefit to the High Street.”
