A PAIR of big-hearted youngsters are set for a sponsored walk to raise money for charity.
Friends Maicie Currie, 6, and Summer Blaby 5, from Dovercourt will be walking from One Stop in Ramsey Road down to Ha’Penny Pier in Harwich on Sunday starting at 10am in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Maicie’s mother Jo Scott is incredibly proud of the pair who have already raised more than £500.
“My step-dad Bill Parks passed away back in April so there has been lots of talk about Cancer Research and Maicie really wanted to do something for charity,” she said.
“We decided the best thing to do would be a sponsored walk because she hates walking so this is going to be a real challenge for her.
“The course is about three and a half miles and we think it will take about an hour.”
Maicie and Summer will be carrying pledge forms on their way and can also be sponsored by visiting justgiving.com/maicieandsummer.
