A DEDICATED runner took on a gruelling marathon challenge in Switzerland to raise money for a charity close to his heart.
Will Dobie completed the Zermatt Marathon for his dad Christopher, 77, of Manningtree who is living with Parkinson’s disease.
The course involves running 42 kilometres up a mountain in the shadow of the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps and Mr Dobie has so far raised £3,400 for Parkinson’s UK.
“I wanted to support the charity because I have seen how the condition affects people’s lives and the need to create greater understanding, awareness and support for those who are living with Parkinson’s,” he said.
Mr Dobie finished the course in four hours and 51 minutes. To sponsor him visit justgiving.com/will-dobie.
