BURGLARS made off with hundreds of pounds of goods after a spate of burglaries across Tendring.

Crooks have targeted homes in Harwich and Walton in the past two weeks.

Detectives are appealing for information after a break-in at a home in Fernlea Road, between 3pm and 4.30pm on Saturday. They got in the house through a window that had been left open before stealing a purse and a DVD boxset.

A house in Fronks Road, Dovercourt, was burgled between 10am and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

Officers believe thieves forced open the conservatory door and stole a gold chain and more than £200 in cash.
