HARDY female rugby players braved wind and rain to raise money at a bikini-clad car wash.

Ladies from the Harwich and Dovercourt Owls, nicknamed the Hooters, raised £250 for the team by polishing each and every vehicle that arrived at the club on Sunday.

Spokesman Annalise Allan said: “The car wash was a great success despite the weather and we would like to thanks everyone who turned up to support us.

“All of the Hooters mucked in and got dirty.

“We had various forms of transport turn up to get washed ranging from quad bikes to tractors.”

Organisers are already planning their next community event which will be a free Family Fun Day at the club on Wick Lane in Dovercourt on Sunday August 24.

Everything from bouncy castles and gladiator podiums to rounders and junior touch rugby will be on offer between 11am and 6pm.
