A DARING businessman is taking on another river swimming challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Terry Fay, of Dovercourt is swimming across the River Stour from Wrabness to Holbrook and back again on Sunday August 10.
He completed one leg of the journey last year, but is hoping to challenge himself even further this time with a return trip as well.
“As much as the swim last year was difficult enough, I wanted to make more effort this year, and swim the return trip also which I think is achievable,” said Stour Valley Freight director Mr Fay.
“The tide will have turned by then, and will take longer to swim, but I am hopeful I can make the 2.5 mile round trip in under two hours.
“Training is going well and I have done a couple of length sea swims which will hopefully help to prepare.
“I am aiming to make it an annual event and change the charity each year.”
Mr Fay hopes to raise more than £500. To donate go to justgiving.com/Terry-Fay1.
