BEACH huts were ransacked in an overnight raid just weeks after 19 were crowbarred open in another burglary.

The frustrated owners have been left to foot the bill for repairs after the huts along Dovercourt seafront were broken into overnight on Tuesday.

A beach patroller reported the break-ins on West End Lane to police shortly after 7am on Wednesday, with suspects believed to have forced the doors open.

Police are currently contacting owners to ascertain if anything has been stolen.

Heather Burwood, secretary of the beach hut users’ association, said the break-ins were just “mindless vandalism”.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex Police on 101.
