THERE is sure to be something for everyone when a historical group invites everyone to cross the moat of a Napoleonic fort.

The Harwich Society is once again opening up the Redoubt Fort for the annual open day with activities suitable for the whole family.

Doors open from 11am until 4pm on Monday and entry is free.

Among the attractions will be refreshments, ice creams, face painting, a bottle stall and much more ensuring the Redoubt Fort Open Day will be a great way to spend the Bank Holiday afternoon.

Harwich Society chairman Colin Farnell is anticipating another successful day.

“It took 40 years for the Harwich Society to restore the Redoubt Fort and our volunteers who manage and maintain it love the opportunity to show off what has been achieved,” he said.

“The Redoubt Fort Open Day is always a great occasion and we are all very much looking forward to it.”
