A DARING businessman has raised more than £800 for Cancer Research by swimming across the River Stour.
Terry Fay, of Dovercourt, took on the 2.5 mile challenge from Wrabness to Holbrook and back last Thursday.
Last year he completed one leg of the journey but undertook this challenge with friend Daren Brown.
He said: “It started in glorious sunshine, but ended up in a terrible thunder and lightning rainstorm “I completed the round trip in approx one hour 20 minutes, and Daren was about 20 minutes behind.
“I’ve currently raised £840 for Cancer Research, which tops last year’s amount, but am still hoping there’s more to come in.”
Mr Fay hopes to make it an annual charity challenge each year. To donate visit justgiving.com/Terry-Fay1.
