A UNIVERSITY student from Bradfield took part in a charity challenge in Romania helping educate children.

Sacarra Lee, who is a third year student at Bishop Grosseteste Univeristy in Lincoln, took part in the scheme organised by FutureSense Foundation with 15 other students.

To travel to Romania she had to raise £950 along with a £250 deposit.

The Rigby and Berry Charity awarded a £400 grant to Sacarra, who is studying Educational Studies and sport for her degree, to help towards the project.

During the stay she spent two weeks in a Government-funded kindergarten, which underprivileged children attended over the holidays.

For the third week, Sacarra, of Windmill Road, Bradfield, worked in a foster home for ten children aged between eight and 18.

Sacarra, 21, said: “The placement was not easy because the days were long and the manual labour was both hard and tedious.

“The time spent with the children was an unforgettable experience.”
