HARDY female rugby players have taken on the ice bucket challenge as preparation for their upcoming clash with Guernsey.
Women from the Harwich and Dovercourt Owls, nicknamed the Hooters, undertook the icy challenge for charity after being nominated by team captain Mimi Montgomery.
Annalise Allan said: “As Guernsey is known to be a strong side and with recent inspiration from the England ladies winning the World Cup the ladies have been training extra hard as it's coming up to the beginning of our season on September 14.”
She added: “So to add a little fun to the end of a training session we decided to complete the ice bucket challenge that has taken social media by storm.”
The team used it as an opportunity to nominate other female teams – Bury, Southwold and Guernsey – in a bid to raise more money for charity.
