A FORMER courthouse has been put back up for sale plunging its future as an international music school into doubt.
Barry Myhre, who is involved with a piano school at Goldsmith College in London, had been given the green light to transform the old magistrates’ court on Main Road in Dovercourt into a school and home.
But the building is now being marketed by Copperstones Properties as a residential development for offers in the region of £500,000, casting doubt over if the scheme will go ahead.
Harwich Town Councillor Jo Henderson has said she is disappointed the building is back up for sale and fears it could become yet another disused grotspot blighting the town.
“If it is true there must be a good reason behind it but it is very disappointing,” she said.
“There is a real worry it could now become yet another derelict building like Vacumatic and Pound Farm House which are also in my ward."
