ADVENTURERS seeking to follow in John Constable’s footsteps can try out a series of walking, cycling and canoeing routes in the area that inspired the artist’s work.
Constable’s Country Highlights has been launched to coincide with the Victoria and Albert Museum’s upcoming exhibition Constable - The Making of a Master, which runs from September 20, 2014 to January 11, 2015.
Outdoor Hire Centres, based in East Bergholt, has launched three self-guided routes for visitors to follow in Constable’s metaphorical, and actual, footsteps.
The first route is a combined 10-mile walking and cycling route taking in Dedham, Flatford and East Bergholt and is estimated to take up to four hours.
The second is a combined walking and cycling route of 22 miles, extending to include Stoke by Nayland, Nayland, Langham and Stratford St Mary and should take around eight hours.
The third option is two days of combined walking, canoeing and cycling totalling 30 miles.
