DELIVERY lorries are destoying a historic 500 year old building by ignoring pleas to stop using a narrow town centre road, it has been claimed.
Jenine Collier said her shop, Creatively Crafty, was hit twice in one week, bringing the total number of incidents in the eight months she has been renting the property to eight.
She said the whole building shook when a lorry delivering to Tesco hit the corner as it tried to turn from High Street down South Street in Manningtree.
And she is now concerned that further damage could render the building unsafe.
"I'm so angry," Jenine said.
"Buildings like this in towns like this will end up being destroyed if people don't fight for them."
A spokesman for Tesco said: “We were concerned to hear of this incident and will be investigating thoroughly.”
