CLACTON Cricket Club are finishing the season on a high note.
The Seasiders have been crowned as champions of Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division four, following Saturday’s seven-wicket success at Wivenhoe twos.
Wivenhoe batted first but could only muster a score of 109, following three wickets apiece for Imran Sheikh and Kushan Pathiranage.
The Seasiders then eased home for the loss of just three wickets, with skipper Scott Facey top-scoring with 37.
Pathiranage contributed an unbeaten 34 and Mo Asghar 23.
Clacton now have two games left – at home to Yoxford on Saturday and then away to Hadleigh twos on September 13.
