LATE goals have haunted Brightlingsea Regent this week – costing them their place in the FA Cup and also two Ryman League points.
James Webster’s side conceded a 91st-minute winner in Saturday’s FA Cup first qualifying round tie at London Tigers.
It was a body-blow for the Tendring side, who looked to have done enough to earn a replay back at North Road.
Ben Newson, usually so reliable in front of goal, had earlier missed a penalty.
Then, on Tuesday night, Brightlingsea conceded an 88th-minute equaliser at home to Burnham Ramblers, in Ryman League division one north.
Jake Holman’s header put them in front just before half-time, but the visitors fought back for a share of the spoils.
Regent head to Ware on Saturday and then Maldon and Tiptree next Tuesday.
