A DOVERCOURT woman has completed ten days of trekking across Peru to get women checking for the early signs of breast cancer.
Carolyn Kadlec, of Lee Road, is raising money for the Coppafeel charity, which aims to stamp out the late detection of breast cancer.
The 34-year-old took part in a trek along the Inca Trail in September alongside former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden.
They walked for up to nine hours a day across the harsh Andes mountain range before reaching Machu Picchu.
Carolyn, who has raised £2,500 so far, said: “A massive thank you to all of those who sponsored me, your money will go a long way to educating many about the early detection of breast cancer and will ultimately go on to save lives.”
