AN EYESORE wasteland left overgrown for more than eight years is set to be transformed.
Tendring Council has approved the plans for a 46-bedroom home, 12 two-bedroom apartments and a 12 unit disability learning apartment block.
The former hospital ground, in Main Road, Dovercourt, has been derelict since the disused hospital was demolished in 2006.
It was replaced by the town’s Fryatt Hospital.
The planning officer’s report said: “The proposal is not considered to result in an overdevelopment of the site, but shows and efficient way to utilise a previously developed site within a sustainable location.”
