A GRANDMOTHER who was left hospitalised after a crash on the A120 more than two-years ago has said Highways bosses should be taking the blame for incidents at the accident blackspot.

Eve Oliver, of Harwich Road, Great Bromley, took responsibility for the smash on March 30, 2012 at Hare Green which saw her suffer broken ribs, a punctured lung and need a metal pin inserted into her hip.

She had pulled out onto the A120 at Hare Green, crossing towards the central reservation to join the Harwich-bound carriageway when her green Kia Rio was involved in a collision with a black Renault Scenic.

She said the Highways Agency should be taking responsibility for the crashes that are happening, which she claims are because of the poor road layout.

A spokesperson for the Highways Agency said: “"We are absolutely committed to improving safety on the A120, and will do all we can to find a solution that satisfies everyone.”
