AN artist who has used illness to inspire his work is showing a new exhibition at the North House Gallery.

Prints in Chris Gough’s Now and Then exhibition make reference to a bleed on the brain he suffered a couple of years ago.

Since 1991 he has practised printmaking and in 1997 he started an ongoing project to revisit and reconfigure art works.

Some of the prints in the exhibition have been reconfigured with the addition of tiny fragments of collage and pastel.

This is to create ‘a new unity in changed circumstances’ in reference to Gough’s brain bleed.

The exhibition runs from March 7 to April 4 at the gallery on The Walls, Manningtree.

The gallery is open on Saturdays between 10am and 5pm, or by appointment by calling 01206 392717.
