DEMANDS to have a High Street speed limit slashed in a bit to combat speeding drivers will finally be discussed by roads bosses.
Manningtree Town Council has been calling for the speed limits on High Street and Station Road to be lowered to 20mph for more than two years.
At their latest meeting, councillor Carlo Guglielmi confirmed Tendring’s Local Highways Panel is set to examine the bid at a meeting in March.
In 2013, residents and business owners raised concerns that cars were driving as fast as 50mph through the town.
Creatively Crafty shop owner Jenine Collier said: “The speed traffic comes through this town is ridiculous.“
