A MULTI-MILLION pound care home in Mistley has been hailed as a vision for the future.

Mistley Manor has been built in Long Road by the Stour Valley Care Group and boasts 60 bedrooms.

It replaced an eight-bed care home, which the group formerly operated on the same site.

The project was given the go ahead by Tendring Council in January 2013 and identified as a major source of employment growth in the council’s Economic Development Strategy.

Council leader Mick Page, chairman Val Guglielmi and cabinet member for planning Carlo Guglielmi have now visited the site on a fact-finding mission.

Mr Page said: “It really is the way forward and a vision for all to strive for in the future – it felt more like a five-star hotel.”
