A REPORT has found Tendring’s economy was boosted by nearly £600,000 after two stages of the Women’s Tour cycle race were held in the district.
Independent firm Frontline has produced the report on the 2014 inaugural race.
Stage Three was held in and around Clacton, while Stage Five started from Dovercourt.
Mark Platt, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for tourism and events, said there had been a huge impact from the 2014 event.
“The assessment we have received from an independent organisation revealed the Tour raised the profile of our district as an outstanding destination,” he said.
