ANGRY councillors are challenging a decision to cone off a residential road, which stopped audiences of a children’s theatre group from parking.
Traffic cones were put along both sides of Highfield Avenue, in Dovercourt, last month, which Zigzag Theatre Group director Terry White claimed had been put up in an effort to sabotage their production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
About 40 cones were placed on the road by the North Essex Parking Partnership and Tendring Council after a request from a resident.
At a meeting of Harwich Town Council, it questioned why the authorities involved had acted on the request.
Councillor Jo Henderson said: “There would not have been many cars trying to park in Highfield Avenue.
“We were not informed and, as a council, we should be challenging this.”
