FRINTON Cricket Club are set to launch the new season with a friendly against the team they beat in last year’s promotion play-off.
The coastal side, preparing for their first campaign in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League, will play hosts to Ramsey on Saturday, April 11.
It will be a reunion between the sides, who met in last season’s promotion play-off.
And the match will take place seven days before the start of the new Premier League season.
“We’re looking forward to seeing our new friends from Ramsey again,” said Frinton chairman of cricket Pat Patel.
“Everyone is very excited about next season.
“Everything is in place and we’re well prepared, looking forward to the new challenges facing the club.
“It’s going to be very excited for the players but also our 300 social members, who always support the club so well during the season.”
Meanwhile, Frinton’s ladies’ team are on the look-out for new players.
Training starts on Friday, April 10, at 6pm.
“The team is steadily growing but we’re always looking for new recruits,” said captain Becky Plant.
“We’d love to hear from anyone interested in playing.” Becky can be contacted on 07833 504997 or by e-mailing bec.p21@hotmail.co.uk
