Scotland's most expensive single plot of land is up for sale at offers over £1.5m.

The plot at one of the most exclusive developments in the country comes with plans for a unique home overlooking Gleneagles golf course and will be built in time for the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Number eight is the last available plot in the Queen's Crescent gated development of 14 luxury homes set within the grounds of the exclusive Gleneagles Hotel.

Jamie Macnab of property agents Savills, in Edinburgh, said the Gleneagles development, which is one of three, was among the most prestigious in Scotland.

He said: "These are homes for the super wealthy. Together with Caledonian Crescent and Balmoral Crescent, Queen's Crescent is the most exclusive address around.

"When the plans were announced by Gleneagles it was thought unlikely but it has been a huge success with all plots sold and this is the last chance for a plot to be purchased."

The agents said that the buyer of the plot does not have to accept the plans for the house and can build something completely different.
