MORE than 1,500 youngsters got involved in activities at sports centres and swimming pools in the Tendring district in the Easter holidays.
Tendring Council lined up indoor and outdoor fun for children at facilities in Dovercourt, Harwich and Manningtree. Everything from canoeing and trampolining to a bouncy castle and inflatable fun at the swimming pool was on offer.
Staff are now working on activities for half-term, and council communications manager Nigel Brown said: “We were delighted with the turnout and it is important to encourage our young people to be more active.
“It is also a chance for them to make new friends and have fun.”
Parents are advised to check tendringdc.gov.uk to book activities in advance.
