A CHARITY concert will help raise much-needed funds to create a cancer centre.

Anna Rendell-Knights has organised the musical event at St Nicholas’ Church, in Harwich, on Sunday.

The Tendring Male Voice Choir and the Grange Co-operative Singers will be performing, along with four soloists, to raise money for the Cancer Centre Campaign.

Last year, Colchester General Hospital launched a public appeal aiming to raise enough money to bring cancer services – including chemotherapy and radiotherapy – together.

It would also have facilities to help cancer patients and their families come to terms with the life-threatening illness – and help them have a good quality of life once their treatment has been completed.

The concert will see a mix of music, including choral, jazz, show music and modern pieces.

Anna added: “There will be enjoyable music and it will raise funds to help the Cancer Centre Campaign and those people who have been touched by cancer.”

The concert will take place from 2.30pm. Entry is free, but people are asked to make a donation.
