LEISURE facilities in Dovercourt will hold free sessions for residents this weekend.

Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles and Harwich Sports Centre, which are both run by Tendring Council, are offering free classes tomorrow.

There will be tours of the revamped swimming pool and a free gym session at Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles between 11am and 3pm and free standby use of the Astroturf sports pitch.

An inflatable fun session will be held in the pool between 11am and 12.45pm, which will be followed by aqua aerobics from 1pm to 1.45pm and then pilates from 2pm until 3pm.

At the sports centre, there will be badminton, table tennis, racketball, squash, tennis and mini tennis available from noon to 4pm and junior trampolining sessions from 2pm to 4pm.

Tendring Council’s communications manager Nigel Brown said: “Staff are hoping to welcome a large number of people to try out various activities, some maybe for the first time.”

On May 24, there is a Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Course running for £250 and one place is still available.

Those wanting to attend should pre-book by calling Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles on 01255 686176 or Harwich Sports Centre on 01255 504380.
