HISTORICAL exhibits have been created inside Harwich's newest museum.

The 90ft High Lighthouse on Main Road was taken over by the Harwich Society in July last year.

After being given a fresh lick of paint, it was opened to the public while work began on creating special exhibitions.

Now, after a year of work, the building is full of artifacts and information about historic events.

Exhibits across the six floors include the 1953 floods, Christopher Newport, the Kindertransport, Captain Fryatt and the history of Harwich's lighthouses.

And there is also a special section just for information about those who lived in the lighthouse.

The High Lighthouse is open to the public on Saturday’s throughout the summer season at £1 per person. Accompanied children are free and there is also no charge to members of the Harwich Society.
